COLLIDE HOME
Collide is a sensation, restless celebration of dance, drama, music, spoken word, film and inter-disciplinary approaches to new art work. New works are commissioned from Birmingham's culturally diverse artists and showcased annually, resulting in fresh, previously unseen performances, informal sharings and exhibitions from both established and emerging artists

Commissioned artists for the Collide Festival 2007. See the ARTISTS FOR 2007 page for more information on dates, times and venues.
Collide serves as a catalyst for the production of a diverse range of art works. Collide is committed to innovation and seeks to challenge established art-forms through the creation of original, cutting edge art. The programme is dedicated to giving artists opportunities to be ambitious and adventurous by taking fresh approaches to creative practice. Previous works include research and development for performance and live art, performance poetry, digital media installations, an exploration of aural traditions and storytelling, dance, music of all styles and genres, contemporary jewellery-making and design, film and documentary to name a few.
Birmingham City Council recognises the wealth of talent and creativity that exists within the city and across the West Midland's increasingly diverse population. The ripple effect of Collide impacts upon the mainstream arts sector of the city and the West Midlands by raising the standard of artists practice , diversifying venue programmes, increasing audience engagement with art work created from an alternative perspective, as well as contributing to raising the profile of artists practice. Collide represents an excellent opportunity for artists to develop new work, explore and develop new ideas and share in our vision for expanding culturally diverse arts in the West Midlands.
Don't miss your opportunity to be first in line to witness the best in new art.
