Graffiti by Louis Campbell
It's got an edge
To it's colour and texture
Sometimes you get
A real good mixture
An interesting, artistic
Colourful, sprawl
Pissed out of a can
Over some wall

Check the style in that class
Arty scribble
With hidden pride
From lost perpetrators
The city fines
It's accusing eyes crucifies
Some real illusions
And artificial dreams
Sprayed all over everything
Spewed up from the semi-conscious
Imposed on the rest of us
The unexceptable, excepted expression
A destructive creative art
With pictures from the id
Jumping to illusions on conclusions

Virgin surfaces, screwed again
And again
By the end of some felt-tip pen
No one said it was right
But it's there to be seen
Love it or hate it
You know it has meaning
Art or vandalism
It is really just your opinion
The common plain old scene
Has now been coloured in
Graffiti, in the tattooed city
Removing stress to express
What a mind feels
Creative, destructive, provocative, crass
Graffiti
Is in its own class
