I am a digital artist and filmmaker with strong interests in Motion Art, TV drama and TV documentary production and have produced films independently and collaboratively centred on notions of Indian Culture.
Over the past four years, I have produced a collection of short experimental films exploring Indian classical music and dance and have made this the focus of my digital work.
I have extensive qualifications in filmmaking where I majored in animation and documentary film and have contributed in producing and directing several short-film funded projects.
Currently I am developing my skills and working in collaboration with several artists experimenting and exploring contemporary and innovative uses of digital media and manipulation.
This short documentary aims to push the boundaries of documentary making creating an innovative and original style of storytelling.
My artistic practice began using contemporary methods of "Direct Animation" onto 16 mm and 8-mm celluloid film. "Kita" was an experimental piece displaying animated etched lines and painted patterns to represent rhythms and tones of classical music. At present I work with digital video and use computer editing packages such as Adobe Premiere, Sound Edit and Photoshop. An example of this can be seen in "Essence".
Currently I am developing my skills independently and have begun experimenting with motion/ movement, where I aim to explore contemporary and unique methods of digital manipulation.
