Marva: My Journeyby Manveer Singh
Birmingham became a bewildering aural adventure when a degenerative eyesight disorder transformed Manveer's ten minute walk from New Street to the Conservatoire.
In Marva, ragas, explosive improvisations, video projections, lighting and soundscapes synthesise film and audio recordings with North Indian, western classical and jazz traditions, exploring relationships between sounds, emotions and visual impairment.
This piece will be on tour to Nottingham, Newcastle Gateshead, Liverpool and Leeds.

Marva: My JourneyManveer Singh Music Manveer is a composer and musician, studying tabla, the North Indian classical drum. Manveer's compositional style fuses the core elements of Raag and Taal with genres as diverse as jazz, blues, Middle Eastern, West African and western classical music, creating a fresh, innovative sound. |
